What is ETIAS?
ETIAS is not a traditional visa. It is a simple pre-travel authorization system designed to keep everyone safe while visiting Europe.
Your approved ETIAS is valid for three years, or until your current passport expires. It allows you to enjoy multiple short trips, up to 90 days within a 180-day period, across any of the 30 European countries in the Schengen Zone.
Official ETIAS Application Steps

- Step 1: Access the official portal. Always use the official EU website or mobile app to apply and avoid third-party scams.
- Step 2: Have your passport ready. Your passport must be valid for at least three months after your intended departure date from Europe.
- Step 3: Complete the application. You will enter your personal details, passport information, current occupation, and travel plans. You also need to answer a few basic security questions.
- Step 4: Pay the application fee. The official fee is 20 euros, payable by credit or debit card. Travelers under 18 or over 70 are exempt from this fee.
- Step 5: Receive your authorization. Most applications are approved within minutes, and you will receive a confirmation email. In rare cases, it can take up to 30 days if extra checks are needed.
